From Centre Pass to State Titles: Meet Neve Cross

Introducing our new Monthly Athlete Profile campaign, we’re shining a spotlight on the absolute legends in our netball community.

Every month, clubs from around Australia nominate the players who deserve a little extra court-side hype. This is for the athletes pulling off game-changing intercepts, bringing the side line energy, showing incredible growth, or simply being the kind of teammate every club wants in their circle.

And for June, we couldn’t be prouder to introduce our very first featured athlete: Neve Cross.

From the moment Neve first stepped onto the netball court at just 10 years old, her passion for the game has been impossible to miss. Fast forward a few years, and she has grown into one of Unity Bellvista’s Division 1 superstars. A player known not only for her talent, but for her relentless work ethic, commitment, and leadership both on and off the court.

A dominant Wing Defence and Goal Defence with the versatility to step seamlessly into Goal Keeper whenever her team needs her. Neve has built an impressive pathway through school, club, representative, and state-level netball. No matter which bib she wears or which team she takes the court for, she brings the same level of intensity, consistency, and team-first attitude every single time.

And her netball calendar? Packed would be an understatement.

Neve currently represents Unity Bell Vista Netball Club, Falcons Netball Club in her first year with the program, Unity College QISSN, the Thunder Emerald Team, Thunder Ruby as a Training Partner, the CDNA U18 Representative Championship Team, the 2025 Thunder State Titles U16 Team, the Sunshine Coast School Girls State Championships Team, and Sunshine Coast Premier League U18s.

It’s the kind of schedule that would challenge even the most experienced athletes.

Between training more than nine hours every week, playing four games weekly, balancing Grade 12 studies, and working a job alongside it all, Neve is the definition of commitment. But what stands out most to those around her isn’t just the achievements or representative teams, it’s the person she is behind the scenes.

She is the teammate lifting the energy at training after a tough session. The player encouraging younger athletes from the side line. The one who leads through actions, consistency, and positivity. The kind of athlete who reminds everyone why our netball community is so special.

Neve’s dreams for the future stretch far beyond the next centre pass. She hopes to continue her netball journey as far as possible while also studying at university to become an Occupational Therapist. And perhaps most importantly, she hopes to one day give back to the sport that has shaped so much of her life through mentoring and supporting younger players coming through the pathway.

Neve are exactly what our Monthly Athlete Profile campaign is all about.

Not just recognising talent, but celebrating the people who make our netball community stronger every time they step onto the court.

We cannot wait to see where her journey takes her next.
